The RFID Guardian: a firewall for your tags

by Nate Anderson, May, 2007, Ars Technica

Put down that hammer and step away from that microwave—now there's a better way to keep your radio frequency identification (RFID) chips secure.

A new tool from a graduate student at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam offers the first real-time cloak of protection to users concerned about security, and no hammer blows are required. The RFID Guardian is essentially a firewall that can prevent or allow RFID queries, and can do so on a per-tag basis.

Some outlook of systems being design to protect people privacy generated by RFID tags.

Note: Once again, I reference an article raising or addressing an Identity issue (privacy in this case). The reason I believe is that such issues are often more "spectacular", and therefore prefered by the journalists as more able to attract the attention of a large public audience. I hope however that this biase will be perceived as such by the public of the FIDIS blog, and that this blog will not contribute to making people to perceived the "Identity concept" from only a negative persceptive.
